The Victa 160cc Sportsmans Deluxe 2 Stroke has seen better days. My father used to have a collection of lawnmowers that he would pull out of his lawnmower shed and regularly attempt activation of. However, I remember that one or two of them were so cantankerous that they rarely co-operated. He would occasionally enlist me to assist. (but I didnt have the patience for it) So as a result. I didnt like mucking around with lawnmowers. I liked the ones that started easily. Fortunately the Victa did. But, I still wasn’t too keen on trying to repair the old clunker.
It seemed to start easily enough. But it didn’t want to keep running. I’ve since worked out that it seemed to be getting too hot, too fast! But I’m not that woried about it anymore. This seems to be the nature of the beast. It just means I will have to mow the grass in much smaller chunks a lot more often than I’d hoped.
But (before I worked all that out) I’d decided to do a mini cleanup and service on the old thing.
First of all I removed the 3 (Should have been 4) screws holding the top plastic grill.

Then finally removal of the full cover. By removal of the 4 larger screws now made accessable by removal of the top plastic grill.
With removal of the covers. I am now able to clean up around the carby. So I give it a rough cleanup. Finally a Re-Assemble. Replacing the 7 (Should have been 8) screws.
